Day 28 Another Monday

Day 28
Monday January 31, 2011

Well guess who it is? Your favorite blogger. I'm back because of popular demand. Actually my mom asked me to do the blog because she's watching the bachelor and Jerseylicious with her friend. Which in my opinion are junk. But if you like it ,it's just my opinion. I'm not going to talk about that all day, so I'll get to the real reason people read the blog. Monday was better than the average Monday was supposed to be. We woke up around eight. I woke up at seven fifty with the smell of Addy's dirty diaper! A lot of parents have their own way of waking up their kids, cold water, your late for school there's chocolate pancakes down stairs, but I guess I'm not that lucky. Well once Addy was changed and everyone was showered we headed out. We were headed to Dan Hocalther's( sorry if I miss spelled it) anyway he works with Air Traffic control at the Air Force base In Phoenix and he was going to show us around there. When we got there we watched some F 16s take off, they were bookin! They were probably going five hundred or maybe even six hundred mph! It was crazy.  After he took us to see were he saves the world. If you ever went into the military that's what you would want to do Air Traffic control, but I never said it was easy! Where they work  was so dark and cool but it's like they have a different language! He took us where all the computers were and all the equipment that's names I have never heard of in my life! So he showed us the system and how it all works it was so complicated! Everyone says they' re the babied few but you have to be smart to do that! I would like to see an army General or a Navy Captain do that! Well later he showed us all around base it was huge. They had apartments, gas stations, burger king, football fields, baseball fields, movie theatres, and anything you could think of!  Once that was finished we headed to the University of Pheonix Stadium It was Jumbo! Unfortunatly they didn't have tours that day so we had to just walk around it, but we got to see the field. They roll it out every week to water it , then on game day they roll it back in how crazy is that! The field looked so nice it's real grass I just wanted to run on to it and just do grass angels! It would be cool to roll your front lawn out on good days then bring it inside on bad days, but I don't know how it would work. Still it would be so awesome if you could do that. Well my dad is an expert now at driving a thirty four foot RV through big cities, but I never said he loved it. We made it just in time for Phoenix rush hour it wasn't that bad we made it safely to our destination. That night we stayed in Mesa with some old  friends the Halls who where in our ward until recently. We had hamburgers and enjoyed a REAL toilet it was so nice of them. We have met a lot of nice people who have opened their home's to us. I hope that when our turn comes that we will be that generous. We've met a lot of interesting people who have lots of good things to say about our decision. I keep wondering about what's going to happen when we get home. My dad met a guy in California who said that the lord is the way maker that he provides a way. When my dad told me it made me realize were on this trip for a reason, that god has a way for us and everything is going to be alright.

Day 27 I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves me too!

Day 27 Sunday January 30, 2011

Hochhalters

Today was such a great day! We spent the day with family.

We stayed the night at the R.V. Park in Good year Arizona. It is a really nice place. We got up for church and had to shake a leg because Corey's cousin Danny and Katie's ward started at 9:00. They had blessed there sweet baby girl Afton the day before, so they had a lot of family in town. We not only got to see Danny and Katie but Corey's aunt and uncle John and Nancy and his Grandma and Grandpa Fisher. It was a nice reunion and felt good to see family.

There ward was such a friendly ward. I had some great tender mercies yesterday. I had been having some rough days. I was feeling out of sorts and struggling to get a system down with the trip. I had been laying in bed the night before church and  feeling down about some different things. The next day at church I was waiting in the foyer for sacrament to get over so I could go into the chapel to sit with my family. A lady that I had been sitting by said , "I just want you to know that you look absolutley darling today". I was so touched by her compliment.  It made me feel so happy!  I was so thankful for a complete stranger to be so kind to me. Then I went into sit with the family and had to take Addy out to the foyer.  I have been really struggling with my fatigue. I have a specific vitamin that I take to keep my fatigue away. I did not bring it on the trip. I was thinking I would try and figure out away to get it. You can't just buy it at the store you have to by it from someone who sales it. So I thought somehow I need to get my hands on some and quick so I can get my energy back.

That was my other tender mercy. I was in the foyer again with Addy and talked to the lady next to me. I asked her about the speaker and if he spoke at Education week because I recognized his voice. She said," no." She asked if I did Reliv because he is a speaker for Reliv. Reliv is the vitamin that I take. I was so taken back when she said that. I thought I would have to go looking for my Reliv not have it brought to me. But that is exactly what happened Heavenly Father knows how badly I need it and that I have been frustrated and struggling with my fatigue. He brought it to me instead of making me look for it. I also felt his love when that girl gave me the compliment. I felt like it was from him telling me that I am loved. I am so grateful for those moments that I can feel his love. He loves me so perfectly and takes such good care of me and my family. I also am reminded that we need to speak up more often with kind genuine words. We are Heavenly Fathers answer to others. I am going to speak up more often when I have something kind to say to someone.

After church we went to Danny and Katie's and they fed our big family. They were so good to us and we adore them. Danny is in the Air force and he just got back from 6 months in Iraq. They have 3 small children. Katie just had her first baby girl in September while Danny was away. I was impressed with her. She seems like a very strong woman. A wonderful mom and wife. And she has a talent for decor. There little boys are sweet and love there Daddy. They are a great family and it was so fun to be in there home.Thank you so much Danny and Katie and will see you again in a couple of days.

It was also fun to see you Nancy and thanks for listening to me talk. It was so good to have girl talk and you have such a talent for listening. Love you much, And tell Joh
n that Colton loved talking his ear off with jokes.

And thanks so much to Grandma and Grandpa for bringing all the boys books. It saved us a lot of shipping money.

We will be back again you can count on that.
Were on our way to Phoenix! Were glad to move on from Cali we loved it, but it's time to fly again! We stayed the night in Quartszite Arizona at a McDonald's parking lot. It was suppose to be the Mecca of R.V.ing but it was not for us so we are moving on. We hope to see some family and our friends the Halls.

Day 24- San Diego Temple, Mormon Batallion and Old Town

Day 24
Thursday January 27, 2011

We dry camped at ocean side park. It was not somewhere I would have picked but it was fun for the kids. They got a lot of ocean time in and I got some much needed sleep in. I was so worn out from 2 days of Disney land. We got ready and stopped by the San Diego Temple. The temple was closed and most of the grounds were closed off too. We stayed for just a short minute.

Then we went over to Old Town San Diego. Our first stop was the Mormon Battalion. It was so nice to be in a church environment. They have done such a beautiful job with the visitor center. It was really inspiring!

The Mormon Battalions motto was: Choose Happiness not matter what the circumstance.
They also said that they received most from what they least expected.
It is such a great place to go. We really loved it.
We then walked through old town, ate some really yummy Mexican food. Then wasted our money on the famous Whaley haunted house. It was a really fun day. We then stayed the night right across from the Mormon Battalion. In the front of the sister missionaries apartments. We were on a hill so we had to lay our heads the opposite way.

Addy and her daddy's frozen lemonade

While me and Addy waited for the boys to get off the California Screamer Rollercoaster. Addy found Corey's left over frozen lemonade.

She worked her little heart out getting every little bit of it that she could. I'm afraid she has her mothers sugar condition.

Day 25- Hell shower ,female freak out day and U.S.S Midway

Day 25
Friday January 28, 2011

The day started out good. Colton is my new exercise partner, his job is to make sure I run everyday. I have got to get rid of this back end that keeps following me everywhere I go. He got me up and we jogged up above Old town. The houses were so amazing. I love Idaho, but when I passed the houses I thought, now why do I live in Idaho? Oh ya, I know why. Idaho is not on a fault line and it isn't so expensive. And of course all my friends and family. I can see why people love it in Cali though.

After I huffed and puffed around the old town hills with Colton, asking myself how could I let myself get in such horrible condition. We got back and immediately got on the road. We headed to Balboa Park where I had the worst experience of our trip.

I know I have mentioned how much I hate dry camping, well this morning only intensified the hate.
Before we were to start our day I wanted to get cleaned up. I headed into our R.V. shower in the Balboa park parking lot. I knew I was going to have to do a military shower. I didn't know it would end up being a 99 cent store shower(you'll understand soon).
I got in and started the water, I got wet and turned the water off. Soaped up my whole body turned on the water only to have it spit at me a few times before it decided to stop completely.
I started to scream," BALANCE OUT THE R.V. "! I thought that if we balanced it out there would be more water. No such luck. NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING! I started yelling, "I NEED WATER"! I had bought 3 big gallon water jugs the day before at the dollar store. "Somebody get the water from under the R.V."! Nothing, except Carston did come in and tell me that the phone was for me. I begged and pleaded for some water. Then I screamed and screamed. Corey came back. I don't know where he had disappeared to. He saved me once again. He found the 99 cent store jug that the boy's said we didn't have. I slowly poured a little and screamed so loud that the car driving by came to a screeching halt. I am sure they thought there was a murder in the R.V. The water was freezing. I couldn't do it. So I yelled at Colton to pour some water in my big glass measuring bowl to warm it up in the microwave. I was a complete mess and so mad, so mad and cold so, so cold! And my skin was starting to burn from the soap. Finally I yelled out," Colton what is taking so long"? He said, "its not warming up". I yelled," never mind" and he sent in what was no longer freezing cold water to just cold water. I poured it on my freezing body. Then I had to take the ice cold 99 cent water jug and rinse the rest of my soapy, cold, fat body! I screamed and cried with all my soul. My husband finally hollered out,:" Allysun get a hold of yourself". I couldn't I was just so mad! I let the natural man in me have complete control. I wanted to run away and not come back. I got out of the shower and had no towel of my own, because mine had been stolen from Pismo beach laundry mat. My towel that I just can't get over loosing. I cried and screamed" this trip was the worst idea ever, the worst idea ever! I flailed my cold shaking body onto my bed and laid there and cried. I stared at the wall and said never again, I will never go through that experience again. I know that there are many more things way more horrible then what I had just experienced, but to me it was horrible just horrible. For anyone who does not know me very well. I take two baths a day at home. I have been called a mermaid by many of my close friends. I know that I live a very blessed life and that I can be a pretty spoiled woman. Especially when it comes to my baths and showers. I am very aware that water is such a huge blessing. Not just water but lots of it and hot water at that.

I am still trying to recover from the trauma and the bad headache from that hell of a shower. I am sorry if I offend anyone with the cuss word but that is how strongly I feel about that experience. Nothing else would do.

I finally got dressed and we headed over to our waiting spot for the trolley. I had to have Codey run and get my phone because I was expecting a call from the boy's school. Which is a whole other headache in itself. He had been drinking a coke, which is great parenting I know. We got to the trolley stop with everyone staring out at us and waiting for us to get on. I turned around to get Addy out of the Stroller and to my horror saw that she had a coke can in her hand and was drinking it. I grabbed it and threw it away. Then I felt I needed to quickly explain to all the trolley passengers that were staring at me that we do not let our baby drink coke just our 11 year old. Not one person cracked a smile, you could tell that they were super impressed with us. Codey came back and we got on the trolley. We cruised around the Balboa park and I barked at any family member that sat to close to me. I was still in a very angry state. We saw and heard a little bit about the park and I am sure on any other day I would have enjoyed it. But instead I wanted to get back to the R.V. and move on to our next destination.

As we were being brought back to our parking spot you could see our R.V. and Corey said, "oh nice, real nice". The R.V was still jacked up from my shower experience and hadn't been put back down. So it looked like total white trash parked there, jacked up for all our trolley friends to see. As soon as we got off Corey said, "walk the other way lets wait until they leave to walk over to the R.V. We waited for them to leave instead we heard the trolley bell ring and out ran a nice oriental man bringing me Addy's tennis shoes. We thanked him then hung our heads in shame as we walked back to our Jacked up R.V.

We moved on to our next wonderful experience of the Day. We drove to the Hotel Del Coronado. Only to find once again how hard it is to find a parking spot in our Memory Bus. So we drove past it and then made a u turn and headed back. By the time we found some parking Addy was a sleep and Corey was ready to be away from me. So I took the boys and started to walk to the Hotel Del Coronado still in my natural man state. Grumpy so Grumpy! I asked to have some space while we walked. Caleb then bumped into Carston and Carston got mad at Caleb and pushed him then the fighting began. I said, "never mind, I can't walk any further with you". So I headed back and said you guys don't deserve to see the Hotel. So we got back in the R.V. I explained to Corey that I couldn't handle it on my own today and we decided to got to the U.S.S. Midway instead. As we were driving off my cute husband said, "I'll bring you back some day honey when we get rid of these free loaders". Don't worry he didn't say it loud just loud enough for me to hear and enough to make me smile and look forward to that time.

We made it to the U.S.S Midway after much help from Colton. He has been an absolute Angel at least most of the time on this trip. We rely so much on him and he is such a huge help! He always get us to our destination with the help of the Tom Tom. We got to the ship and surprise, parking was an issue. So Corey dropped us off at what we thought was the place to by the tickets instead it was a seafood restaurant. I wandered around looking for a place to get Addy some water for a bottle. She was not feeling well and had been a bit grumpy herself. That is where Corey came up with Friday female freak out day. I finally found a bathroom. I asked the boys to make sure they washed there hands when there done using the restroom. Some guy that was coming out hopped on his bike and said that's going to be a little hard there's a guy in there washing his hair. Poor Codey wandered out with this bewildered look on his face and said I need to go # 2 but there are no doors on the bathrooms and there is a homeless guy in there washing his hair. So we walked about a block away to where the real entrance to the ship was. On our way there we found Corey and he was mad because he had to pay 18 dollars to park. Then we went to get our tickets and it was a lot more expensive then what I had been told. It was a big chunk of change. We got on the ship and the boys had a great time. They really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it also but was still trying to shake my bad mood.

After we went through the tour which was a 2 and half hour tour. We decided to say goodbye to California and head to Arizona. We had to get gas, so cute Colton found us the nearest gas station that ended up being in the ghettos. It was very nerve wracking for my husband. We got on the road and drove for about 2 hours then we got off the freeway to stop and let one of the boys use the bathroom. We still were out of water and didn't want to use the R.V. one. Corey was pulling off the road to turn around when we got high centered and stuck in the dirt. Corey and the boys got out and tried to do what they could while I took the wheel and put on the gas when I was told. A couple of trucks drove by. My husband was stressed to the max because we were right by the Mexican border and we have heard nothing but scary stories about the border. After the boys got done saying a prayer 2 military border patrol men came to our rescue. They pulled us out. We were so grateful! We had to put all the bikes back on the R.V. and then we were off again. We decided to go to a place called Quartzsite that a gentlemen had told Corey about back in Pismo Beach. He told us it was the R.V.ing Mecca and the worlds biggest flea market. We got there and it was late so we ended up staying in the McDonald's parking lot with a million more R.V.s. Colton woke me up to take me jogging except there was no place to jog in the packed parking lot. We got on the road and headed to Phoenix. We made it to Phoenix and found a really nice campground. Yea ,Yea ,Yea. Water, Water, Water! We cleaned up our messy R.V. had some dinner and watched some movies. Tomorrow we get to see some family The Holchalters. Then we will get to see our friends the Halls I am so excited to see familiar faces. We miss our friends and family so much!

And don't worry I canceled my plane ticket home. My husband keeps asking me when my flight back home leaves. You better check yourself before you wreck your self. No judging me!

Day 22 Disney Adventure Park

Day 22
Tuesday January 25, 2011

Oh we loved, loved, loved Disney Adventure park! It was a blast!

It was a perfect weather day and not very many people at all. We were able to go on so many rides more then once. The boys loved the Tower of Terror. They went on it 10 times. Addy got some of her first rides in also. One of my very favorite days yet.

This is the boys at the night water show. They had to leave before it was over so they could get one more ride on the tower of terror. They convinced me to go. I'm glad I did it was a trip!

And of course a big difference from our morning run to get to the park we were all exhausted by the end of the day. So worth it!

Thank you, Thank you,Thank you

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Wow we have come across a lot of wonderful people, and generous so generous. I have to thank Richard and Beverly Anderson. Thank you so much for being so so good to us. You made us feel like family.
We are learning from everyone we have the opportunity to come in contact with. We learned from the Anderson's to welcome others into your home and treat them as if there family even when there not. We felt so at home and comfortable. As Corey put it beautifully you were a port in the storm. As a mom and Dad we felt like we were being taken care of instead of doing all the taking care of while on the trip.
Thank you for all the food, the use of your washer and dryers. All the money you have saved us. Letting us take over your whole upstairs. Thank you for your genuine concern for us and the hugs and laughs. We consider you our family.
Thanks again so much!
Corey, Ally, Colton ,Codey, Carston, Caleb and Addy
